Nathaniel Cas Ancheta (b. 1987, Lancaster, CA) is a Filipino-American contemporary artist, designer, and curator. Originally aspiring to a career in golf, he shifted to art and design, leading to creative pursuits in San Francisco after high school.
Ancheta graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Dominican University of CA in 2009, developing a fascination with language, shape, and space. His work, initially focused on drawing and painting, evolved to incorporate architectural and design elements, especially through deconstructing and reconstructing typographical shapes.
He earned his Master’s of Fine Arts from the Art Center College of Design in 2016, with additional studies in Paris. His work evolved to focus on themes of identity and self-reflection, leading to more installation-based projects. Upon graduation and moving back to his hometown his work took another shift toward exploring infrastructure, land, participation, and interaction, creating significant works that engage individuals, the public, and the environment.
